The DIN for the 2015 Joint Service Diving Safety Conference has now been released and can be accessed at the links below. We had approximately 70 people attend the 2014 conference who I think found it both useful and interesting.
Once again the conference will be held at HMS Raleigh, near Plymouth, and will offer the opportunity for sub aqua divers from all 3 services to meet, share experiences and knowledge. We’ll have a wide range of speakers which have yet to be confirmed but should include the Superintendent of Diving, Diving Standards Officer (AT), a representative from the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC) and of course JSSDAC. It may well be too early to have Monty Halls back again but we’ll also try and muster someone with a bit of celebrity value!
There will also be the opportunity to have a Q&A session with members of the Joint Service Sub Aqua Diving Policy Advisory Committee (JSSADPAC) and a social event in the evening.
To make the trip to Plymouth worthwhile, and hopefully attract some more junior divers, we’ve also laid on courses both before and after the conference. These include Marine Radio Operator (MRO), Small Boathandling (SBH) and a SADS Refresher course. Priority for loading these will go to those also attending the conference!
